SOLAR ALLIANCE 2006

August 26, 2006 (Tentative)
Washington D.C. Metropolitan Area

The Solar Science Alliance (SSA) Initiative will involve development of activities and materials to be used in the SSA Activity kits projects and research.  The projects will focus on direct solar observing data, sun spotters and solar activity projects that will highlight the achievements and discoveries of the STP/LWS program missions as they begin producing data and images.  SSA summer and year long training will be available to the SSA partners.  The SSA Initiative will provide a way to bring direct observations of the Sun into the hands of the general public and communities across the nation.

We will hold an annual alliance meeting to provide alliance partners with project updates, contact with STP/LWS mission scientists and engineers and the strategic plan implementation tasks.  The Stargazer’s website will support the initiative online activities and project database.
